A stereo mix of the "Can You Please Crawl Out
Your Window?" single has long circulated among collectors, taken from a Columbia
acetate cut in Nashville; but this mix was probably made rather later than the
original mono single. The track was apparently considered for inclusion in Greatest
Hits Vol.II (1971)*, and may even have been in the running for the first
Greatest Hits album in 1967; either of these would have called for a stereo
version. This wide, 1960s-style stereo mix has never had an official
release; but a new, much narrower stereo mix
was made for the 18-CD Collector's Edition of The
Cutting Edge 1965-1966, released in 2015. For further details and discussion, see
this
article.
